We Have Visual Studio 2012, entiity data framework and are trying to connect to DB2 on a mainframe. We have the IBM DB2 .NET Data provider installed and we got it by installing these products
a) IBM Data Server Client version 9.7.0.441
b) DB2 connect Server version 9.7.0.441
We are unable to "See" this provider in the Change Data Source screen when we got to add a new database connection.
The order of the install on the windows 7 PC is as follows:
a) Visual Studio 2012
b) IBM Data Server Client
c) DB2 Connect SErver Version
I know that one of the above IBM products is enough but does the "install order" matter? Should we have installed the IBM products first and then VS so it picks up?
