Extending project properties page

Hi,

is there any way to extend the project property page (the page opened in the document view area containing the tabs "Application", "Build" etc.) without implementing a custom project type? I just want to add some custom properties to the default C# and VB project types that shall be editable via the same property page, but I don't want to create a custom project type.
