I have two VSIX extensions installed in Visual Studio 2015 that I compiled. One was developed completely in house, the other was open source that we tweaked for internal usage. Both were installed through the same Private Gallery that we setup here.
If I go to Extensions and Updates and select one of them, it says "This type of extension cannot update automatically. Updates will appear on the Updates tab."
The other one instead displays a check box that says "Automatically update this extension".
The one built in-house is the one that says it cannot update automatically.
What would cause one to allow updating and the other not? I could not readily find any documentation on this, and searching that error message did not return anything useful.
