How do I update a template in the on-line gallery?

What is the procddure to update a template previously uploaded to the on-line gallery?

I see the product ID (auto-generated) and version data in the VSIX file and that data shows up in the gallery. When I want to update an existing gallery I assume I reuse the ID and change the version (which I have done).

But I have not found out how to easily update the existing template in the gallery. So I first "unpublish" the existing one and then "delete" it. Then I upload the replacement. Surely there is a one-click "update" capability. But where can I find that?

Also, I assume since these templates are versioned that there is some sort of update capability in the VS IDE so users can be notified of updates. I have updated a template again today and am looking for some sort of notification.

I examined the "Installed Templates" page of the "New Project" dialog but see no sort of notification. Not even when I select the template I previously installed for which an update has been published does the IDE inform the user of a change.

Nor does the "Online Templates" view of the "New Project" dialog seem to contain any capability to inform me that a template I have previously installed has a new version that needs to be updated (if I so desire, of course).

So far the only way I have found to update the template on a client machine is to go to the "Online Templates" page and do a search. But even though the version information is displayed when the template is clicked, the user doesn't know the version is different than the installed version (as selecting the existing template doesn't show the user any version information).

I also tried right-clicking my existing template in the hope that there would be a short-cut menu with something like "Check for updates" or "Update" that could be used to easily have the update downloaded and installed.

The on-line gallery is a great way to disseminate templates but it could use some trivial improvements.
