Synchronize two or more views – Synchronized Scroll Bars – Serpentine View(s)

I’d like to synchronize two (or more) vertical views, such that they behave like a (single) serpentine view. That is, given a large document, one view would contain the top portion of the document and couldn’t scroll upwards, past the top line, and subsequent views couldn’t scroll up past what the primary view considered its last line.

In other words, two or more views would act like a newspaper article. Possible?

I’ve looked at creating ‘Vertical Groups’, but I’d have to link the views somehow. I’ve searched for things like ‘Synchronized View’s’, Synchronized Scroll Bars’; however, I not found anything on the web, nor in this forum.

Ideas? Possible?

I imagine, one would have to either access vertical tab groups, or somehow select windows that have been previously split. Or, have a context menu with an option that could programmatically split the document window.

Then, one would have to capture scroll events in any/all linked views and communicate them to other (linked) views – more importantly, the scrolling of all linked views would have to take into account the total scrollable area – the area covered by all views, then limit the top & bottom margins such that each view does not duplicate rows.

Thoughts?
