Creating custom project type for VS2013 or later

Hi-

I'm looking for some confirmation that MPF is still the accepted way to create a custom project type.

If so,

I've been playing around with MPF for Projects - Visual Studio 2013

but I also noticed this in nuget manager: Managed Project Framework for Visual Studio 2013 - alpha version

My solution needs to work with VS 2013 or later which should I use?
