Visual Studio 2012 crashes when adding MySQL database

Hello,

I have been trying to setup a MySQL database with a hobby project that I have.  When trying to add a data source it will throw the following error and then force close Visual Studio 2012.

"Error using the dropdown: Could not get type information for <Dataset Name>"

I am using .NET 2.0 currently because I have a Win 2k3 server that I want to put this on.  I haven't looked into seeing if other versions of .NET are acceptable yet.  I have tested it using .NET 3.5 but it still receives the above error but doesn't close.

Everything is fully update, MySQL was already reinstalled twice, the connectors are the current version, Visual Studio is updated, I have already been able to successfully add an Access database but I want to use stored procedures in the database.

Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT:  The dataset is created before the close as well as it is listed in the data sources but the dataset is empty and the GridView sees it but wont accept it and will throw the same error.
